When I started my career as a professional Nanny, I truly did not realize how important my role would be in the dynamic of someone else’s family. My revelation sparked more ideas and goals for me to hit. “So basically I’m their homeschooling teacher” was the light bulb that went off.
When I changed my focus to this being my goals to accomplish with the children it opened more opportunities for me and the children I’ve watched have thrived!!! Surpassing developmental milestones along with academic success beyond their grade levels.
This was when I knew this was my calling. I take such pride in maintaining quality care for each child I help raise.
At BestNanny4U I encourage and support candidates to also embark in this field with this mindset. We are more then just a caregiver. More then just a sitter. More then just the adult present during activities and events. We are responsible for helping mold children into successful adults by providing the adequate care, support, nurturing skills, and knowledge.
Too often have I entered a building for an activity or the library or a sports event and seen caregivers just on their phones. BestNanny4U makes this a huge priority during the vetting process to observe and question each candidate about their normal daily phone usage.
To maintain a healthy and successful match both parties have to understand their roles and work towards those. Keeping open communication with the parents and caregiver about the children’s current accomplishments along with future goals to work towards.
In any field we have meetings or check ins to see how things are working out for both parties and this career is no different. It is always important to follow through with regular check ins and check lists of family and children’s needs.
In conclusion make sure you have a well set list of needs/wants from the caregiver. We will handle the rest.
